Climate Resilience and Sustainability
Sericulture has long sustained Surin, yet climate change now poses significant risks to the traditions and livelihoods upheld by generations of women weavers. FCS advances sustainable sericulture to safeguard this cultural heritage and to empower a new generation—women, men, and LGBTQ+ artisans—to lead a resilient, inclusive, and future-ready silk value chain.
We do this by helping communities adjust their silk practices to new climate needs. FCS provides climate smart training, cleaner production methods, eco friendly product development, and access to new markets. These steps strengthen health, improve income, and keep silk traditions connected to nature so weavers can move toward a stable and sustainable future.
